Timothy Carey Romeo Carey
The story of the world renowned, independent film production company began in 1956 when actor and pioneering film maker, Timothy Carey built his studio Frenzy Films. In this studio the groundbreaking film "The World's Greatest Sinner" and the follow-up production, "Tweet's, Ladies of Pasadena" were produced. Writer, director, actor, attack dog trainer, falconer, gardener, Marine, semi-pro baseball pitcher, father of six, prankster and expert exhibitionist. Timothy Carey was a trusted counselor, mentor, teacher, and inspiration to those that met with his onscreen creative fury. And for anyone fortunate enough to have made it into his inner-sanctum. The first floor consisting of three rooms, the last room, the Inner -Sanctum, one would find the main studio door with a large brass lion head knocker and plaque that reads, "Abandon Hope All Ye Who Enter Here." For those who entered the spellbound world of Timothy Carey they would be forever changed…baptized in a cauldron of an artistic super nova. Who were some of these somebodies and nobodies who's lives were forever changed by this annointing: Marlon Brando, Stanley Kubrick, David Carradine, John Cassavettes, James Dean, George McCready, Crispin Glover, George Hamilton, Errol Morris, Elvis Presley, Arnold Schwartseneggar, Ray Dennis Steckler, and Frank Zappa to name a few. Timothy Carey’s acting classes on his self-authored acting style, “The Ultimate Method” also took center stage in this studio for most of his life.
In 1990, the studio launched Absolute Films division headed by his son, Romeo. Absolute Films started with work for MTV, producing domestic and international music videos and moved into commercials, documentaries, national TV talk shows, live televised multi-cam events, web series, and feature films. The studio continues producing content, utilizing a vast network of media professionals and hands-on expertise with state-of-the art digital technology that push the boundaries of imagination and creativity into the world-wide digital frontier.
